The 4 Major Paths of Yoga

Karma Yoga: Action
Bhakti Yoga: Devotion
Raja Yoga: Meditation / Yoga
Jnana Yoga: Intellect
Yoga
Karma Yoga
The Yoga of action and self-lessness. To act and serve without any expectations of result and reward. Simply to work and act with the intention of helping others.
Bhakti Yoga
The Yoga of devotion and love. This form of Yoga is expressed with the aspirant's surrender of him/herself to the Divine. This is not to be mixed up with giving away one's rights and individual power. Devotion is a form of expressing one's love for the aspirant's belief in a higher power. At that moment, all individual ego and wishes shift away, and what remains is that pure space of meditation with the Universal consciousness.
Jnana Yoga
The Yoga of knowledge. This is an intellectual approach through direct inquiry into the nature of our mind, who we are, and the Universe. The aspirant can learn from a Guru (teacher), through reflections from books and scriptures, and also through meditation on the nature of reality.
Raja Yoga
Raja Yoga involves using the mind scientifically to observe and understand ourselves. Meditation and Yoga come under this branch of Yoga. Different techniques of meditation and different asanas of Yoga are used to control the mind, body, and the senses.

The forms of Yoga all come from the same source. Just like the branches of a tree, or rivers from the ocean. The Source from whence it came is the same, and the destination is ultimately also the same.
Karma Yoga
