Stability

A healthy, balanced root chakra allows for stability and strength in one's life. There is a feeling of being grounded in all aspects. You are a strong, developed tree standing tall in your forest of imagination. Your sturdy roots grow deep into the Earth, growing strong and firm. Making your foundation unmoving even in the strongest weather.

Discipline

There are times when we are driven and enthusiastic about the things we are doing. There are also times when we give up, let go and stop trying. A balanced and healthy root chakra assists in our ability to stay on track with our day to day tasks. Discipline is an essential ingredient in life. Only a completed bridge will allow you and others to get to the other side.

Physical body

Muladhar relates to the physical body and its functioning. When this chakra is balanced then we have good physical health and physiological functioning.

Like building a house, the foundation needs to be created correctly and completely. If the brickwork has not been finished, should we be installing the window?

Our spiritual journey begins with Muladhar Chakra. The foundation and formwork of our life, both physical and spiritual. Proper care and attention to this chakra will assist in the smooth development of our other chakras. Without our grounding and tethering chakra, our efforts and intentions will sway away from source and solidity. We may become distracted, tired and feel lethargic to our once enthusiastic endeavors.

Muladhar is connected with the Earth Element. If you imagine this connection, you can instantly feel the essence of what the root chakra is. Our form, our physicality, the container for beautiful things to be created and thrive in.

Visualise yourself as the embodiment of a great, strong tree. Protector of the forest. Your branches and leaves grow and cascade hundreds of metres in every direction.

You give life and shelter to thousands of animals.

Feel the deep, life-giving energy emanating from within your core. Your foundation of life, arising from Mother Earth, into your own heart's core.

Now, realize that however large your branches reach wide and far, also, your roots grow the same way, creating intricate and strong networks into the Earth and soil below.

These roots support you! They support the immense structure of your life-giving form. Without these roots supporting you, how will you receive your nutrients? What will hold you up?

These strong, powerful and nurturing roots is our Muladhar Chakra.

Drawing and receiving vital energy to power our physical body and nourish our other energetic centers.

Continue to visualise these roots and at the same time visualise your own root chakra in your body. Feel its importance and pulsation and draw out energetic roots to Mother Earth. Gently and kindly asking her for life, for protection, and for support. Our Mother will always help us when we ask.

Feel the warmth and nourishment being sent through our roots, into our vital body.
